- Stiftung Genshagen
- Conceptualising and coordinating an experts’ colloquium and a working group
- Since 1993, the Foundation Genshagen (formerly Berlin-Brandenburg Institute for Franco-German Cooperation in Europe) promotes political and societal exchanges between France and Germany. Together with its Polish partners, it supports trilateral cooperation within the Weimar Triangle. On behalf of the Foundation, Cornelius Adebahr organised an experts’ colloquium on civil-military cooperation in the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy. A high-level working group continues this work and prepares a second experts’ colloquium to be held in the late spring of 2011.
- Hertie School of Governance (HSoG) / Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
- Conceptualising and coordinating a two-/three-week long advanced training seminar
- The Hertie School is an interdisciplinary, international and practice-oriented professional school. The German Technological Cooperation GIZ tasked it with organising practical training exercise for professional lawyers from the South Caucasus. Together with Professor Alexander Graser, Cornelius Adebahr oversaw the implementaion of a two-week (2009) and three-week long event (2010), respectively. In addition, he taught individual course sessions, including „Rhetoric and Communication“ and „Public Policy“.
- AgenZ, an agency of German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) / Ministry for Inter-generational Affairs, Family, Women, and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia
- Conference reports for the 13th International Metropolis Conference
- Upon invitation from the Ministry for Inter-generational Affairs, Family, Women, and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, about 700 participants from politics, administration, academia, and civil society met in Bonn at the end of October 2008 to discuss the challenges of "Mobility, Integration and Development in a Globalised World". The Ministry had asked AgenZ, an agency of German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), to setup a comprehensive reporting system in order to document the conference's topical discussions. Contracted by AgenZ, Cornelius Adebahr was responsible for the daily publication of a 40-page conference report. This included the selection, assignment and coaching of a team of 38 conference rapporteurs as well as the overnight editing of their reports. Thus, for three days of this internationally highly acclaimed conference, participants for the first time had the opportunity to read a concise summary of the previous day's discussions by lunchtime on the following day (Day 1; Day 2; Day 3).
- ZEIT Foundation Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius / Heinz-Nixdorf-Foundation
- Conference report for the Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance
- The Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance is a two-week seminar, organised by the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius and the Heinz-Nixdorf-Foundation. Its overall aim is to foster leadership qualities in young professionals by opening a cross-border dialogue on current political, economic, social and juridical questions. Participants will be inspired by – and will learn from – high-profile speakers who are eminent public figures in politics, business, academia and the NGO sphere. The Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance harks back to Henry Kissinger's renowned International Summer Seminar at Harvard University. Cornelius Adebahr was present at the discussions and wrote a conference report each year (2005; 2006; 2007; 2008; 2009; 2010; 2011; 2012)
- American Council on Germany / Dräger Foundation / ZEIT Foundation Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius
- Conference reports for the Young Leaders Study Group on the Future of Europe
- The American Council on Germany (New York), the Dräger Foundation (Lübeck) and (until 2007) the ZEIT Foundation (Hamburg) have jointly organised a Young Leaders Study Group on the Future of Europe. Over a period of about two years, young professionals from Europe and the United States come together for a continuous dialogue. In the framework of four conferences, they analyse the current and future challenges of the transatlantic community. Cornelius Adebahr participates in the group’s meetings and summarises the respective controversies, ideas and opinions (Conference reports part I: Berlin 2003, Warsaw 2004, Washington D.C. 2004, Brussels 2005; Conference reports part II: Berlin 2006, Washington, D.C. 2007 (no report), Istanbul 2007, Brussels 2007; Conference reports part III: Berlin 2009).
- berlinpolis e.V., a Berlin think tank
- Workshop and report for the Conference “EuroMission – New Perspectives for the Enlarged Europe”
- The conference, organised in co-operation with the Berlin-based think tank berlinpolis, focused on three of Europe’s main challenges of today: An emerging European Public, the consequences of Enlargement, and Europe's Global Role. A workshop on Europe's Global Role run by Cornelius and Maria Adebahr developed potential guidelines for European foreign policy based on a scenario “EU 2015”. The results of the conference were published in fall 2004, prefaced by Commission Vice-President Günter Verheugen.
- TRANSFUSE Association e.V.
- Building an international network of young professionals; since 2006, co-organisation of the Leadership Development Programme
- The former participants of the Balkan project TRANSFUSE, organised in 2000 by the Aspen Institute Berlin with the support of the German Foreign Office, the Robert Bosch Foundation and other international institutions, founded an independent association of young professionals from Southeastern Europe, broader Europe, and the United States. Cornelius Adebahr supported the setting up of the association, conference organisation in Belgrade, Istanbul, and Berlin, as well as marketing and communications. Since 2006, he additionally contributes to the organisation of the Leadership Development Programme “SEE Young Leaders”, a joint project of TRANSFUSE and the College of Europe.
- AIESEC meets EXPO 2000
- Conference organisation at the World Exposition EXPO 2000
- On behalf of the international students organisation AIESEC, Cornelius Adebahr headed a project team to manage internships, seminars and conferences on „Sustainable Development“ on the occasion of the World Exposition. They raised traineeships for 25 foreign students, and organised international conferences attended by 500 overall participants, with partners including the World Bank and Unesco as well as companies like KPMG, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
